On the right path…
There are few things that I say I believe in. No, I don’t have a religion, and I don’t believe in any… destiny or fate. And I really don’t believe in “Everything happens for a reason.” But… I do believe in coincidence. The kind of coincidence that gives you that weird feeling, as if, you are doing something right. Gives you a feeling like you are on the right track. I like to believe it’s telling me to continue on with whatever I am currently focusing on.
For example, today at work. I was removing ad signs from the shelves, and there were a few cans of energy drink on top of one of the sign holders. Me, thinking the cans were packed in six pack rings, yanked out the holder from underneath them. As soon as I did, I realized they weren’t connected, and next thing I knew, I saw a can tipping toward the floor. I grabbed for it. Miss. I stuck my foot out to slow its speed. Strike two. It hit the floor like it was its mission to do so. I lean over to pick up the dented can, turn it over to read the name on the label, “Freefall.”
I get a similar feeling from when I am walking toward a sidewalk intersection, like the ones that happened everyday at college, and if I managed to walk through the perpendicular line without changing my pace at all, I just feel like I am in the right place. Exactly where I should be.
